Please, continue with your pledges so we can continue to grow.

The Gift Agreement reads:

This agreement is between The Citadel and The Class of 1976. The Class of 1976 has agreed to contribute $25000.00 to permanently endow the Class of '76 Scholarship at The Citadel.

The Citadel agrees the gift will be used as outlined in this document. Additional contributions may be made to this endowed fund at any time. The original gift and all future gifts to this fund will not be spent; awards will result from endowment earnings alone.

The purpose of this endowment is to provide funds for Citadel Cadets with established need, with preference going to descendants of members of the Class of '76 who have established need.  The fund shall be held, managed, invested and administered by The Citadel Trust, Inc., an eleemosynary corporation created under the laws of South Carolina and approved by the South Carolina General Assembly for such purposes, or its successors, until such time as the fund is liquidated or otherwise terminated in accordance with public law.  The annual spending policy from the fund will be as determined by the Directors of The Citadel Trust and approved by The Citadel Board of Visitors.

Earnings accumulated and no distributions will be made from the fund until the total value of the fund meets a minimum value of $25,000.00. If after a three year period, the fund has not reached the $25,000.00 minimum level required for a named and restricted endowment, the fund will be transferred to the President's Honorary Scholarship Fund. The donor will be notified before this action is taken.

The donor has the opportunity to receive report of the fund's progress and the annual amount disbursed and name(s) of  awardees.

Donations made be made by check directly to The Citadel Fund, made out to
the Class of '76 Scholarship or denoting the scholarship name on the annual
mailout donation card.
